New Movies for October 28, 2016/ by /

Hey hey! It’s time for your look at what’s in theatres this week!

MOONLIGHT – This wasn’t on my monthly list, but it’s looking to be one of the year’s best films. A heartbreaking tale of a young black man coming to terms with his sexuality over three periods of his life, it’s also visually stunning. Playing at the Varsity this week, going wider next month.

INFERNO – THE DAVINCI CODE was goofy fun. ANGELS AND DEMONS was a slog. This falls somewhere in between. Tom Hanks runs around with Felicity Jones trying to stop a plague from wiping out half the population. On the other hand, we could use a good culling. It’s presented in IMAX but it’s just a remaster, so totally unnecessary.

TYLER PERRY PRESENTS TYLER PERRY’S MADEA IN A TYLER PERRY FILM: BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN DIRECTED BY WRITTEN BY AND STARRING TYLER PERRY – I doubt this will win any new fans, but hey, who knows. Early reviews are not good, but this ain’t for critics. You already know if you’re going to see this one.
