Couple of indie releases this week, nothing big.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE – The fourth big comic film of the year is, well, the second worst. If you keep raising the stakes, eventually every world-threatening event becomes ho-hum, and that’s exactly what’s happening here. Oscar Isaac is wasted as Apocalypse, there’s too many characters in play to care about any of them, there’s a few cool moments but overall it’s a big disappointment.
ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS – When you gross a billion dollars worldwide, you’re getting a sequel whether you want it or not. Reviews are unsurprisingly negative, but hey, if you really enjoyed the first you’ll probably enjoy this one too.
