Still getting through the dregs of January, but there’s a few Oscar picks to check out. This week’s new films are, um, not Oscar worthy.
RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER – Promise? I haven’t seen one of these since EXTINCTION, so I’m not likely to catch the finale. Reviews have been pretty bad but if you’re a fan you’ll likely get what you want. Still haven’t heard if it’s a definitive end though, let’s hope so.
GOLD – Matthew McConaughey goes bald and fat to play a get-rich-quick schemer who gets way out of his league. Sadly, reviews have been dismissive at best.
A DOG’S PURPOSE – The video PETA leaked was timed to make the most damage on the film rather than truly call out the filmmakers, but regardless this is some emotionally manipulative bullshit. If you’re a dog person, it’s a three hankie night.
